Overview
The Diploma in Educational Leadership & Management is designed to help school-level administrators become visionary leaders and competent managers.
It drives the meaningful pursuit of a deeper understanding of the 21st-century wisdom and skills necessary for global educational improvement and the leading of transformative change via engagement of rich, academic content and practical scenarios. Through the deeper understanding of your role and purpose as a leader, you will be able to shape your organization and add value to it through enhanced impact and inspiration of those you lead with essential leadership strategies.
It endeavours to prepare you for the many challenges facing school administrators and to provide hands-on opportunities for you to demonstrate proficiency and to practice leadership skills in your school. It enables you to examine all spheres of education and training and makes you well positioned to select suitable opportunities from a broad array of options.
Once you have finished the four modules, you will have at your disposal the skills and knowledge to contend for the most demanding management roles. The measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework level descriptors at Level 6 –23 Credits.
Learning outcomes:
Be able to nurture the critical development, articulation, implementation and stewardship of a school vision of learning supported by the school community.
Understand the importance of, and be able to create a positive school culture, providing an effective instructional program, applying best practice to student learning & designing comprehensive professional growth plans for staff.
Be able to manage the organization, operations & resources in a way that promotes a safe, efficient & effective learning environment.
Understand the importance of collaborating with families and other community members, responding to diverse community interests & needs, and mobilizing community resources.
Understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal and cultural context.
The qualification is suitable for teachers who are seeking managerial positions in their schools such as Coordinators, Supervisors, Heads of Departments and Principals and for established managers who seek advanced development.
- Level 3 or 4 in appropriate subject (Bachelor’s Degree)
- Mandatory 2-3 years of teaching/education management experience
- Intermediate level of English
- Experience in school administration is highly recommended
